Trip Reviews
[trip_rating_summary] Shortcode
InquiryFlow stores lead data (name, email, message, trip context, metadata) in your WordPress database. You control how long leads are kept and can honor GDPR export and erase requests through WordPress privacy tools.
Step-by-step guide
Set retention period
- Go to WordPress Admin → WP Travel Kit → InquiryFlow → Settings.
- Click Data & Privacy in the left nav.
- Set Lead retention period (months) — default 24 months (range 1–120).
- Click Save.
A daily scheduled task deletes leads older than the retention period.

What data is stored
Per inquiry:
- Name, email, message
- Trip ID and title (when applicable)
- Channel, lead type, source URL
- Status, internal notes, timestamps
- Optional meta (Trip Builder brief fields in Pro)
GDPR — export personal data
- Go to WordPress Admin → Tools → Export Personal Data.
- Enter the visitor’s email address.
- Send the export request confirmation.
- After confirmation, the export includes an InquiryFlow Inquiries group with Name, Email, Message, and Date fields.
Exporter id: wptk-inquiries
GDPR — erase personal data
- Go Tools → Erase Personal Data.
- Enter the visitor’s email.
- After confirmation, matching InquiryFlow leads are deleted from the database.
Consent on the form
Configure consent copy under Form & Consent — Initial setup. The privacy policy URL links visitors to your policy page.
Tips
- Align retention months with your privacy policy statement.
- Export before erase if you need records for legal hold.
- Pro CRM sync copies data to third parties — disclose in your privacy policy.
Common mistakes
- Expecting inbox delete button — use erase tool or wait for retention purge.
- Setting retention to 1 month while sales cycles are longer — leads may disappear mid-pipeline.
- Erasing data in WordPress but not in CRM — erase CRM contacts separately.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| Export missing inquiries | Confirm email matches exactly |
| Old leads still visible | Retention purge runs daily; check months setting |
| Erase did not remove lead | Re-run erase; check email case/spelling |
